Twenty-one years ago, I bet it was hard to be

A single parent taking care of two kids,

With no support, all on your own.

Twenty-one years ago, I bet you were glad

That you listened to the voice in your mind

Telling you to keep me safe and never let me go.  

Twenty-one years ago, I bet you never

Thought you’d have a daughter

graduating from high school with high honors.

Twenty-one years ago, I bet you never

thought you'd have a daughter going to college 

to pursue her dreams of becoming a successful

business owner.

Twenty-one years ago, I bet you NEVER thought you'd be

the greatest mentor to your daughter who

would never want it to be anyone else other

than you.  

Twenty-one years ago, I bet you never thought you’d

Have a daughter telling you,

“I love you mommy!

If it weren’t for you, I honestly

Don’t know where I would be today.

You taught me everything I needed to know

And more. You will forever be my teacher.”
