I love you three

I am from concert tickets

From piano keys to guitar strings that are well played by the end of the day.

From horse voices and sleepy giggles

From the closet painted to look like the sky to the bedroom walls painted as beach scene

But if you close your eyes you don’t hear the water crashing

You hear it whispering to you thoughts that would never occur to you

Unless you’re alone

I am from notebooks and 35 cent pictures from the Walgreens down the street

Feeling the smooth finish on each photo lightly

Trying to not smudge the image.

Each detail puzzled together to create a memory otherwise forgotten

From “life is a party” and “have I told you today that I love you?”

I am from the early Thanksgiving dinners and the hugs to see if anyone has money in their pockets

From dog toy covered floors and clothes covered in animal hair

I’m from late night conversations and breakfasts at 1pm

From dandelions and daffodils that glisten in the springtime sun

I am from concert tickets

I’m from late night conversations and breakfasts at 1pm

From dandelions and daffodils that glisten in the springtime sun

They bring upon the bright colors of new starts

To snuggles with puppies and a kitten glued to your side for warmth

I am from afternoon naps on couches and make room for Lucky too

I am from a smily mom and a goofy dad

A part of an ever growing family

From my “something-th” cousin whatever times removed

Where ‘I love you’ doesn’t have to be used sparingly to make it mean more

In fact I love you too

I love you three

I love you 3894342 times

Plus one
