I love you too

We sit on the front steps of my memories.

Perfect summer wrapping us up,

You,

and me

Safe in your arms.

I can still hear you whisper in my ear.

“I love you”

I love you too.

Sometimes when it’s quiet,

I almost catch your voice,

Your laugh floats from the other room.

I am waiting for your eyes to open,

For your hand to squeeze mine.

For you to say

“I love you”

I love you too.

If heaven ever gets lonely,

If it’s to far away.

Pleas come and spend a minute by my side.

Wrap me up angel wings,

I’ll feel your embrace.

I’ll whisper

“I love you”

And on days that I’m lucky,

I’ll hear you answer back.

“I love you too.”

I love you too.
