i loved you to death

Loving you is like loving a corpse.

Your looks are killer,

But your personality is lifeless,

And I can’t live with a heart that’s dead set on putting my thoughts and feelings in a casket.

So I’ve written your obituary:

Here lies our relationship,

Dead from the beginning.

We remember all the wounds we’ve received, spread amid by love’s tragedy.

So we creamate those feelings.

Preparing them to leave this life.

And bidding them no resurrection.

And now we live hopeful.

Knowing that for every death, there is life.

And love can begin again.
