I messed up

It’s always been you

And after having the black veil slowly, painfully lifted from my eyes

I now understand

I let him use me

Torture me

Lock me up in heavy metal chains and burn the key until it became part of the solid ground

Stockholm syndrome took over

And even though he was hurting me

I couldn’t feel it

I was numb

All I could feel was the crumbs of happiness he threw to me to keep me from starving

And now that I am free

I am lost, but somehow found
