I Miss Him

I miss him.

I miss his hugs

That covered me, like a warm blanket,

And stayed with me like a soft memory.

I miss feeling safe

When I was near him, he made me feel as if

Nothing, no, no one could ever hurt me.

His slightest whisper, his lightest touch

Gave me strength to face each day.

But one day, he was gone

Like a child's smile

Or a puff of smoke.

Gone.

I miss him.
