I Miss The Motherland

I miss feeling at home everytime I set foot on your body

I miss your harm embrace through the Carribean winds

I miss the flowers that surround your body

The ocean that is full of your tears because you were hurt by your own children

Some of your children suck you dry

They take what you give them and then they reject you

They take what you give them and keep it for themselves

They don't share with the other children

Now you have nothing left to feed the other children

The greedy children are living wealthy while the others suffer

And then there's me

Like most of the other children, I'm tired of suffering

So I had to leave you and set foot on the motherland of others

Some welcome us to their lands others don't

We have no choice but to try to survive

Then maybe one day I can come back to help you get rid of my greedy brothers and sisters

I don't regret leaving but I do miss you and I'm sorry

O motherland you have no idea how much I miss you but have faith

One day I will come back
