I miss you

I felt myself drifting from you, but what was about to happen was something I never knew. Life was speeding it was our senior year, the beginning was over and the end was near. We talked about colleges and moving on, and how sooner than later all of our friends would be gone. I was prepared to lose you, but not in the way that would leave me nothing to do. It was the ringing I remember that lasted forever, and the shaking in the voice that I would never forget, ever. Words that followed that I would never see you again, and the feelings I felt I will never be able to explain. The car that carried you took your life, and the pain that I felt struck me like a knife. The following days were only going to get worse, I would do anything in the world to take what happened to you and put it in reverse. I realize now that you are in a better place, but what kills me is that I will never again see your face. As you fly with the angels I know you'll be okay, and I know somewhere deep down inside I will see you again one day.

I made this poem in honor of a friend that I just recently lost this year.
