I Must Be A Liar

Dear love,

I think I am a liar. I must be. I say I am a poet but I cannot even find the words to say how much I love you. I do not know how to describe the feelings you give me because you make me not only speechless, but breathless. You walk into a room, steal the life from my eyes only to breathe it right back into me with your lips on mine. I must be a liar because every time you ask me if I am okay I say I am fine. I am not fine. When I am with you I am so much more than fine and when we are apart I am so much less. I once told you that my emotions come in extremes and you are no exception. I must be a liar because for that first month I knew you I denied the question asked to me: “So who do you like?” I always replied “no one”. The truth in this is that I did not like anyone, but I was in love with you. I must be a liar. Everytime I think of when you finally find someone better, I tell myself that I could live without you. I could not. You have become a welcome virus in  my mind, invading every thought of my day. I watch the clock, waiting for the final bell with bated breath for the chance to run down the halls, dodging the mess that is a high school hallway just to say goodbye to you. I then hold you so tight because I am afraid you will blow away like ashes in the wind, finally revealing yourself as the figment of my imagination I am so terrified that you are. I often wish you were in bed next to me but upon further reflection this would be a terrible idea. Neither of us would be able to get any sleep. You mean so much to me. The first thing on my mind when I wake up, the last before I fall asleep. You are not my world. You are so much more, my galaxy, my nebula, my universe. You are my everything. I love you more than any book I could pick up, worth more than all the knowledge in the world. My love, you fill the ever growing hole in my heart, and complete the puzzle that is my life. I have fallen in love with you, truly, madly, deeply, but you were there to catch me. Thank you.
