I need to.
I write because
I can.
I feel.
I want to.
I'm a child playing pretend, creating my own world.
With a world as busy, confusing, and active as this,
I want to write.
I write because
I need an escape.
I need to create an escape for others.
I have to.
My characters and I finally get everything we want.
With so much distraction, unhappiness, and doubt,
I have to write.
I want to write.
I have to see the words on the page of a notebook,
Feel the pen in my hand.
I need to form the words on the screen,
Press the buttons on the keyboard.
The repetitive motions become therapeutic.
I write because it makes me better.
I write because
I am getting better.
I can make others better, too.
I need to.
I get to keep everything I lost and create everything I need.
With a world that tears and builds unpredictably,
I need to write.
