I Need

I need a man.

Like, a MAN.

Not no second rate debate of a boy that chooses between you and his toys

Like loving you is a choice.

Then you try to voice your opinion like "baby I'll change" type

Kissin up to your expectations as you're contemplatin if he really will or he just wants to win over the

situation.

I said

"I love you now but don't act surprised if I choose to stop compromising MY happiness to your

unwillingness to make me happy"

One of the hardest choices but I left you gladly.

Sadly the attitude you choose to ensue is a self proclaimed prophecy that's been proven to be

true.

And now I know why my heart is bruised from the pains of my labor that produced no fruit.

Fooling myself to believe that you could reciprocate all I was doing

To save us from the safe haven I found in being the stronger one

More in control

But I remain cold.

Now my soul acts like it's been told that loneliness works better than accompanied sadness.

Unharnessed needs feed the urge to breathe complacent solitude

Intruding the standards I've tolerated to withstand your immature attitude.

Summer came along and I chose to live it up and forget.

Leaving me to conclude that love doesn't select but love for myself is what I first need to perfect.
