I Need a Chance

Days behind me. Days ahead.

I need a chance to clear my head.

I need the hope to stand and say:

I need a chance with each new day.

All I need is a chance to fight.

To slay my dragons, with all my might.

I need a chance to live and learn.

To face those bridges that I've burned.

I need a chance to make it right.

To learn my manners; be polite.

I need a chance to watch; observe.

To grow in life to love and serve.

I need a chance to search my heart.

I need a chance to stand apart.

I need a chance to leave the nest.

Only then can I do my best.
