I Need To Get Away
I need to get away- but how?
Over the hills and through the snow,
Sinking to knees, I sing as I go,
Small to the naked trees that grow
And down to the frozen river, I know;
I'm away, away from it all, for now.
I need to get away- but where?
A log cabin stands, strong and alight
A lone cabin stands in the darkness of night
Against the strong wind, it stands to fight,
The piled up logs so woven in tight;
I'm away, away from the stress and the care.
I need to get away- but why?
I dream of white paradise, without a care,
Of soft clouds and snowflakes adrift through the air,
Of quivering wind blowing sharply through hair,
A place I am happy, a wintry lair;
I'm away, away under infinite sky.
