I Need Hope

Please,

Just one

Little grain of sand

In my hand;

Please,

Just one

Little spark of a fire

Burning eternally,

Unable to be put out;

Please,

Just one

Little drop of rain

Falling from the lonely sky

On my face

To soak into my skin

So I can be free and alive again;

Please,

Just one

Little seed

Dropping into the cracked ground

So it can grow

Into a willow tree

To shelter me

And my broken heart;

Please,

I need just one

Simple little thing,

Something to lift me

Out of this deep hole I’m in;

Please,

Just give me one

Little thing I can use

To give me one

Little piece

Of hope.

I have been writing poetry for 5 years now and I have a collection of over 600 original poems I've made. I submitted a poem to Appelley Publishing and was published in the 2018 addition of their poetry book. I love to read and write, and I have a cat and a hamster.
