I need my body
I need my body.
The armor that preserves my soul.
I am still learning to love,
its unique imperfections.
Without my body I am not strong
against the judgment of the world.
Even if I am alone
my body is my companion.
I need my body
With scars that tell stories as I age.
I reminisce what there is to change,
expectations and beautiful lies.
That is why I need my body.
