I Never
I never promised you a garden full of roses
Or a big blue house with white shutters - one that barely closes
Or a happy home with bright laughter
Or the sound of children's feet running pitter-patter
Or a comfy room with a bed big enough for two
I never promised that to you
But that doesn't mean I'm happy it didn't come true
Sorry your lovely fantasy didn't come to fruition
I imagine it must be more beautiful than any words written
It would be great - the love and laughter and kisses
But I never promised you a garden full of roses
Because I've never been good with any flower
Somehow I was afraid of being pricked and that made me a coward
