I Never Gave Up

Assignments that seem like few papers to some

Are mountainous to me.

 I attempt to focus,

Yet I realize

 my attention is lost.

The unfair standards cause unnecessary stress.

I am concerned about experiencing

 retribution.

Teachers are aware of

my disability, But are

incapable

 Of supplying additional help.

I try teaching myself; most of the time I fail,

But I never give up. My

ambition

was to graduate with my class.

My teacher sat down with me

And read for hours.

It was difficult, But eventually I was reading words.

If it was not for that teacher,

I would have never become the author I am.
