I Never Knew

I never knew how scarlet red

Your blood is
Until I saw it splattered on the floor
I never knew how grey
Your brain is
Until it was all over the wall
I never knew how terrifying
Someone closing their eyes is
Until you did it one last time
I never knew how scary
A fall is
Until you landed on the floor
I never knew how horrible
A gun is
Until I saw it in your mouth
I never knew
What a real nightmare is
Until you blew your brains out
