I never loved you when

I never loved you when you loved me

It took six years of always being there for me

It took six years of making me laugh

It took six years for me to realize my feelings for you

But it was six years too late

You didn’t love me then

But because I loved you

I never pushed it

I waited patiently like you did

I waited until you loved me back

I started to love you, but I didn’t know how to show it

I brought you smoothies when you were stressed

I came over just so I could hug you

I wrote little notes for you when you went to work

So you would always remember to smile

But the little notes would never compare to

Our late night Waffle House dates

Where my excitement over waffles always made you smile

I loved you when you went out of your way to care for me

When I was down, you made me feel better

Through your jokes, you laughed your way into my heart

You were my best friend before anything

Because I love you

I tell you about my day, my hardships and excitements

The random trivia facts to the great outbursts of realization

That McDreamy was in Enchanted

Because I love you

I will try new things and learn all about your hobbies

So you will have a person that understands your love of shoes

I will face my fear of social situations

Because you will be there guiding me through it all

Because I love you

I'll always promote your dream

Even when you don’t think you’ll be able to achieve it

I will write you little notes to motivate you to pursue your dream job

Because I love you

I will never say the three little words

But I will show that my love for you through my actions
