I Never Thought I'd Lose You

It was just over a year ago

When this whole journey began

The symptoms started to show

Though no doctor had a plan

Then November came

They finally had some news

My world would never be the same

You I would eventually lose

The cancer took your sight

And your joy soon began to fade

Four months and you could no longer fight

So in the hospital you stayed

What seemed like a bump along the way

Turned out to be the end

The Lord would take you any day

I never thought I’d lose my best friend
