I Now Know
I now know what antifreeze tastes like:
Sickly sweet that steadily poisons me.
I now know that, after being oxygen-starved,
A breath of fresh air is normal and healthy, not a luxury.
I now know that neglect is bad,
And significant others are supposed to not ignore you.
I now know what it feels like,
To have someone look at you like you’re the world.
I now believe in three things,
Communication, honesty, and fun.
I now know what it’s like,
To have someone love you for who you are, not who you’re going to be.
I now know what it’s like,
To have a healthy relationship.
I now know what it’s like,
To live a healthy #BecauseILoveYou.
