i once had a friend

i once had a friend

i once had a whole group of friends

i was 7.

we were like the best group.

there were 4 of us,

and we were inseperable.

we hung on each other's shoulders,

and in desperate measures,

knotted ourselves to the school door so we wouldn't have to leave.

all that's left of us is the memories,

and the knotted pink sweater.

i spent half of my life with them.

i once had a friend.

i once had a whole group of friends.

i was 12.

we were that group of friends.

we thought we were the best.

we loved each other. (depending on the day)

i have a friend.

i have a few friends.

i am 14.

we are lucky to have each other.

that is love.
