I once wrote a poem
I once wrote a poem;
It was about my feelings
And it made me feel better.
I once wrote a poem
That I cried while writing
And it made me realize why that’s okay.
I wrote a poem once,
With anger in my heart and fire in my soul.
I wrote a poem once,
That made me realize a lot of things.
Like maybe why I feel the way I do,
And possibly how to fix it.
I once wrote a poem
That meant a lot to me,
But had it destroyed by my teacher.
She only made it better.
I wrote a poem once,
And it was happy with pastels and fluffy clouds.
I wrote a poem many times,
And they all made me feel something.
I read a poem once;
It was about death and it made me think,
Not of how it was sad,
But of how natural it was and how to move on.
I read a poem once,
That I cried while reading.
Then, as I wiped away my tears,
I read it again.
I read a poem once
And I read it for english class.
I had to read it
But it still made me feel what it was meant to.
I read a poem once
That made me laugh out loud in a quiet room,
Then look around to see if anyone saw.
I read many poems, for many reasons,
And they all made me feel something.
That’s why I love poetry
And that’s why I write it too.
