I Open a Window
Lying in bed
Windows next to my head
Quiet inside
Energy has died
The sky fills with light
Illuminating the night
I am not alone
Then the startling tone
Of thunder crashes
And the wind thrashes
Straight through the trees
Bringing a cold breeze
I open a window
In order to follow
This storm that entreats me
Makes me feel free
Calming to look at
Begins my thoughts that
Went silent before
Feel lively once more
The storm has blown
I am not alone
