I play people like instrumentswhich
I play people like instruments
which string to pluck
which handle to pull
the levers and pullies of their minds at my fingers grasp
a music only I can hear them sing
a word carefully placed
a smile
a nod
a reminiscnese
I clap with delight at the show
DANCE!! DANCE!! DANCE!!
I yelp
My words their bidding
claws reach into their soul
tare out the bits I like
lick my fingers and
store the leftovers
information is valuable I must admit
peoples worst darkest fears are my favorite
it is tedious patience a nessecitie
I am quite clumsy
I must admit
its delicate work im not well suited
I slip
oops
I've forgotten her name
lord look at my mess
too direct
I sigh
these slip ups are the very reason for my failures
the stiching forever ruining the flower I had been emroidering for some time
the instrument fully tuned with a slash across the strings
these mistakes cost me dearly
I'll get better all I need is practice
I'm still far ahead
the miles between us stretching far
I thought this was a common skill?
Lieing
oh yes,
I cant help myself
I love the crafting of it
Im hungry for the next one I tell
fingers prod and point at the mistake
of course! how could I forget
their trust broken
Its of no mind to me
more sweet lies and I can patch it up
covering my needle work with a fancy bow
I blink
"did you not think of that"
I question
horrible needle work I know
but I was comfotable
It made me stumble
curiosity governed me in that moment
"no I dont usually..."
they trailed off
sensing the insult before it rolled harsh off their tongue
"Lie"
I finished for them
no shame
I didnt have time for it
shame was a poisoned guilt that would swing a sword over my neck
I took the knowlege bottled it
no one had that same ravenous hunger for mistruths
I am sated
for now
let me give you one last fib
one last harmless jab
I know how to stop-cc.
