I Promise

It’s been one day without you

And I’m already dying

I said I’d be okay

If I stopped trying for you

I’ll put a smile on and pretend nothing’s wrong

And that you’re not on my mind

But there’s promises that I’ve made to myself

To keep your heart with mine

I promise to keep our flowers alive

I’ll imagine you here by my side

I swear I’ll keep writing you songs

And picture you singing along

I’ll wear the bracelet that matches yours

Although it breaks me down to the core

I need you here with me

Because I promise that I can’t breathe
