I put it back together

I put it back together you know?

That thing you so carelessly broke.

Piece by piece

Bit by bit

I know now to take better care of it

I repaired the one thing that keeps me alive

It only broke because I didn’t realize

It wasn’t you who charged at its beat

It was me who foolishly left it at your feet

I didn’t realize all the pain I put it through.

Simply In giving it to you

Are you hurting like me?

Did it take time to repair?

Over and over it hurt me

Left me mortified

 frozen in despair

But can you blame me ?

You broke something it took god meticulous hours to make

to perfect and wrap in love

You shattered  it in spite of me

So I ask with all that’s left in what I rebuilt

Did it at least strengthen yours?

Make it lighter,fuller, even bigger?

Did you even realize I put it back together?
