I remember

I remember your warm embrace I remember when you told me that you always loved me I remember the way you looked at me with eyes full of admiration I remember the last words you said to me over the phone on your way home I remember the day you were viciously ripped from my life I remember rushing to the hospital praying that you were alive I remember kneeling next to your hospital bed holding your hands I remember sobbing as the doctor told me that you had left this world, taking a piece of my heart with you.
