"I Remember"

I remember the early morning birthday song and the smell of the nights rain

And the sound of gorcery bags ruffling, filled with party decorations

I remember the smell of candle wax and the sound of cups clattering together

I  remember the taste of yellow birthday cake in my mouth, the sweet icing on my tonuge

And my uncle standing in the back of the room, smiling at the room

I remember the sounds of wrapping paper hitting the floor and the kids reactions to what was beneath it

And the feeling of the old wooden table under my hands

I remember the sounds of laughter and the kids screaming with joy, I remember it all as if it was yesterday
