I Remember

I remember my first day of school, backpack and all.

I remember moving across the country.

I remember seeing a new place and not knowing a soul there.

I remember meeting her, we're still friends today.

I remember the bullies.

I remember the tears.

I remember losing friends and the heartache.

I remember how a broken heart feels.

I remember that which is broken can be healed.

I remember friendships are about quality not quantity.

I remember people telling me high school would change who I am.

I remember tell myself I'd stay true.

I remember everything like it was yesterday;

some of it was.
