I remember when

I remember when,

I first saw you in person

Eyes a hazelnut brown.

You were nervous,

So you looked at the ground.

I remember when,

I made the first move.

My eyes bright blue

Saw the beauty in you.

I remember when,

You turned me down

Three times twice!

But you couldn’t resist

The scars I lived with.

I remember when.

I fell in love

You were my weakness

The kryptonite from above.

I remember when,

You said you loved me back

I was losing myself

But you for some reason,

Didn’t care about that

I remember when,

You shined bright like a star

Even when the world was awful.

You still were beautiful, even from afar.

I remember when,

The world we knew was ending

But only I knew that

Because I was afraid to tell you

I’d rather watch you drown

I remember when,

I finally said goodbye

Your heart broke in pieces

No more light in your eyes.

I remember when,

I promised I’d never leave

Well my darling

Even the seasons change

The color of the leaves

I remember when,

I said I wouldn't miss you

But here I am missing

Every single part of you.

Who knew.

I remember when

You were more than a memory

I miss those nights with you

When the demons were scary.
