I Remember You
I Remember You
I remember you,
Your blue eyes like melting ice,
Your smile, slants of light,
In the darkest depths, you showed me paradise.
I remember you,
My pen became your name,
So don’t look at me like that,
Or I’ll never be the same.
I remember you,
Made every dream I built up
Burned by chance, and fell to ash,
To reveal stronger holds of tenderness.
I remember you,
My mind could never turn away,
From lights and smiles and darkness that played,
I’ll start this again, once you say.
I remember you,
Your eyes like melting ice,
When I was wrong, when I was right,
I remember you, always standing by my side.
