I run

I run through the twilight lit streets Nobody can catch me Branches casting shadows’ on my feet I feel the blood rushing to my ears I hear the pounding of my feet Just one more step, one more stride. Breathe in, breathe out. Just one more step, one more stride. I am running from myself and for myself. I am running away from unfinished homework. I am running from a broken relationship and friendship. I am running from my mother’s never-ending sadness. I am running from my unrelenting anger. I am running for peace of mind. I am running for a release of endorphins; That just might bring me a moment of happiness. I am running because thats all I can do
