I Saw


I Saw…...

 

Would you believe?

I saw a pelican today,

on my way

to Maroochydore,

guardian of coastal waters,

and rivers,

and mangrove stream.

 

Was up high

on a Council lighting pole,

and down below

is where fishermen depart,

to their daily fishing chores.

 

He was a stretching,

Unfolding giant wings,

‘twas a gesturing so

to his mate,

both in deep insightful pelican musings;

of the morning past,

when fishing up

good old reliable Petrie Creek,

for a feed for the day.

 

So,

I saw a pelican today,

on my way...
