i saw an angel once

you think you see the sun in her

well son you’re mistaken because

she’s just like me

migraine behind our eyes

i saw an angel once

she wouldn’t come to me

don’t worry i don’t believe in you

anymore than you believe in me

don’t concern yourself

with my faith

if you can trust one thing

it’s that i honestly don’t

these wings were never

clean for me

these wings would never

fly for me

i saw an angel once

i didn’t go blind

there was nothing burning

there was nothing great

what she burned out was just my faith

i saw an angel once

she said to me

the haters are the sinners

so don’t hate yourself
