I see

I see my friends, sitting at our table

Making small talk

Pretending like everything is fine

and that mom and dad don't fight everynight

and that they don't have the burden of feeding their siblings on their shoulders

and that they don't have to worry about their ride tomorrow morning

I see the current events in the world

How people are dying

How the president is tweeting

How animals are dying in man made fires

How adults ignore our pleas for change

I see how overlooked

I am

at school

at work

at home

in public
