I See Strength In Your Eyes

A slow drip drip drip stems from the bag of chemo flowing into your heart I hold your hand, embracing it, praying that we'll never have to part All these years of cancer you'd think there'd be a cure Only three and fighting for your life, your innocence is pure I lay with you in your hospital bed stroking your head of hair I'm in disbelief you're the 1% that still has it there We lay there reading your favorite book I'd do anything to take your mind away from here However long it took Waiving at the kids as they pass in the hall Crying because you simply can't go out and play ball Your energy is not there yet, but with defiance in your mind You fight on as if not to leave anyone behind Every time I hear you say "I love you!" a tear runs down my cheek And in my heart I know its this cancer you must beat For I cant imagine myself not being able to hold you and tell you everything is going to be ok You're the most precious gift God has given me and I thank him every day

I can understand you pain. I recently had several family member who were diagnosised with various cancers. I really hope everything will be okay. Otherwise I would like to tell you that this poem is a beautiful way to show your pain and how much it hurts you to see them this way. Thank you for sending this in!

Becca.
