I See You Looming Over My Head

Don't think that I can't see you, because I can.

The dark clouds that follow by, the rain storms in my tear ducts, I know it is because of you.

Your cold touch surrounds my heart, drawing me into the depths of myself.

I know it is you, Depression.

I never wanted you you in my life

I never asked for you to follow my ever waking step.

But here you are, standing idly by shaking your head at me.

I have fought you many times and it can become easy to feel like David fighting Goliath

Or Odysseus battling the monsters of the sea.

One day we'll say our goodbyes.

I might even miss you

Or feel lost wihout you controlling me.

But for now, all I need is Happiness by my side

Cheering me on, smiling and whispering gently in my ear, "I'm here for you."
