I Seek Not
I seek not to come between any lover,
Platonic or filial.
I simply seek to be a part,
Have a piece of your heart.
I seek not to be a distraction,
Like a woven snare that entangles,
Causing life-choking issues;
For I offer only a love which sets free,
Pushing you forward and ever-progressing.
I seek not to come between your legs,
Into the valley of your womanhood;
To drink of your sweet waters and leave you dry or heavy with child,
Before we walk down the aisle.
So I'll wait till "I do", to make you mine.
I seek not to be an idol;
A god on the altar of your life,
Or a king on the throne of your heart,
Since it's a place reserved for Jehovah Elohim and only Him
For He alone is worthy, having made it.
I seek not to come between you and your God, the Father above;
For His claims upon you were laid long ago.
Before He made you and even me
Though I pray His blessing, upon this loving.
For I seek only to love you with all that is true, no conditions attached;
Give you all I can offer, with no strings attached;
Write you poems_ with or without metaphors, and mean every word;
Loving you with devotion, as Christ loves the Church.
So come beloved, let's partake of this love!
