i shivered, cowering
i shivered, cowering
you focused, tactlessly
i followed, aimlessly
a blindness, unconscious
of empty sentiments
i wouldn’t understand
or couldn’t comprehend
a future exhausted
this condemned direction
held rapture fleetingly
one without refusal
eyes ceding discretion
i thinking, mistaking
i could’ve succeeded
