I should have...

I cry my eyes out just so you could see

But you’re blinded

Not by love

But by your ego

You seek validation from them

But I seek validation from you

I let you hurt me

Hurt my pride

Play with my emotions

I let you

Broken was I when I realized

You can’t be fixed

This is who you are

This is all you will ever be

Stupidly I pray

Every year

That you could see

See

That which the Lord

Has blessed you with

But still again

You seek validation from them

But I seek validation from you

You

You

You who has hurt me

My pride

I feel worthless even though

I can’t feel

I feel stupid for wishing you could see

Even though you was blind

Ego!

Pride

These little words changed everything

This wasn’t you

You

You

You whose smile calm the storms

Now I hate the smile

The smile on your face

I should have let you go

I should let you go

I won’t hold on

Holding on

Would hurt my pride

So I pray this last time

Prayers filled with pain

That you get

That which you deserve

Still I let you go
