i should have forgotten

I should have forgotten the way that you wear your wicked grin; coming from a dark dreamworld, where every monster dwells. (your smirk could send me packing) I WOULD LEAVE WITHOUT SAYING A WORD to anyone else, (and that is not very fair) I should have forgotten the way that your voice sounds; the way that it breaks through my body. (the way that it shatters my glass world) a new stained glass picture made someone that is not me, hanging in the hallway in the showroom, I should have walked away – because there is nothing here for me (i have tested everything, returned it) ledgers full of lies, numbers higher than i thought i knew. Feeling disappointment when I remembered your voice, making my stomach drop- asking for contact, watching me fall from a tree: “i do not want to touch you,” before i turn away- that was the truth, yes. i should have said: “i do not want to have known you.”
