I shouldn't have to. . .
I shouldn't have to miss you.
I shouldn't have to cry.
I shouldn't have to catch you,
every time you lie.
I shouldn't have to wait up,
to see if you'll come home.
I shouldn't have to be here,
sitting all alone.
I shouldn't have to be a choice,
or not one hard to make.
I shouldn't have to wonder,
if this love was a mistake.
I've packed my bags a thousand times,
and tried to walk away.
I should have started running,
I'm still here today.
I keep waiting for the person
who'll be there to hold my hand,
you're just the one who should,
but you tell me that you can't.
You should have dried my tears,
You should have never lied.
You should have made the choice,
instead you lead us to demise.
You ask me why I'm leaving
you beg for me to stay.
"Because I love you, honey,
I promise I will change."
As I walk away from you,
and you slam the door,
I don't have to wonder:
there's one who'll love me more.
