I sit in a room

I sit in a room full of academic students

Starting at a white screen

Scholarship after scholarship

With a "Congratulations for your submission”

When in reality all I want to hear is

“Congratulations, YOU GOT THE SCHOLARSHIP”

“Have you earned a scholarship yet?” –Mom

Everyone thinks it’s easy

It’s me against EVERY other submission

Always in competition

Too much stress

How will I pay for college?

I want a graduation, dept free

Whatever it takes, except stripping

I’ll sell my eggs, my kidney

It will at least help with something

After all, I just need one kidney to live
