I Sit There and Wonder
I sit there and wonder as I hold a paperback.
What is needed to be seen?
What is needed to be heard?
Where am I going to be taken to?
I sit there and wonder in the comfotable chair.
I open the cover as it begins to pull me in.
I explore the land, see the people;
know the important characters.
I sit there and wonder with books surrounding me.
There may be a girl kept hold
by a personal dragon.
Or a kid with a dream too big for a small town.
I sit there and wonder, looking up every now and then.
Nothing except for one place
can take me to as many places
as a book can.
I sit there and wonder at the computer.
I think about what can be explored next.
To a place with a hundred year winter
or a school full of creatures of the night
I sit there and wonder
No matter how far my mind my wonders;
no matter how much my heart dersires to go
I can find it in the right place as
I sit and wonder about these many places
Rows and rows of books,
a place for me to be
to know more about what I can be
I sit there and wonder what it would be like as a librarian.
