I Smile

Every morning I follow the same routine

Wake up, Wash face, shower, brush teeth

Try on three different outfits still half asleep

Look in the mirror and then finally breathe

I see acne and split ends and dark circles under my eyes

I see the warm bed i got to sleep in the past night

I smile

I am greatful

My parents drive me to school

And we argue on the way there

But when they pick me up at the end of the day

I smile

Because they love me

Teachers reprimand me for sleeping

Directors remind me I'mm boring

Coaches curse me for walking

I smile

Thank goondess they care

We aim for a level of success so intangible

It exsists on the same plane as perfection

Unfathomable

We want our peers to one day admire what we've done and what we have

Because cars and indoor pools

Is what kids see as awesome

But when our brains grow large enough to actually open our eyes

These little things surpass any physical prize

I am typing on my laptop and it freezes

Screen goes dark

Everything I have written gets lost

And when it comes back to life

I sit right back down to type

I smile

Because i have a passion that fuels me

I have a passion that can make everything seem amazing

Where ART comes from the HEART

The difference being the two letters HE

The quality of something is dependant on the adjective connected

Life becomes beautiful

Friendshps become unbreakable

Everything becomes awesome
