i sold my soul for a bed

sometimes in life

its okay to be greedy

to want more

or rather, to dream more

so when i lay at night

on the cool floor or thin couch

i cry for a bed

a bed that listens to my secrets

and soaks my tears

a bed that hugs me when im sad

and never leaves me side

so yes, a bed is what i want

a bed is what i dream of

as i hug the covers over a broken ground

and cry into coldness

i told her that is what i want

she gave me a friend instead

so as i lay on this floor, and sleep in the couch

the warmth of my soul

covers me tonight.
