I Stand

I stand, ready, and willing to take on the masses. Imposters of the circle around me, I won't give up, although you break me down, I'm a firm believer of second chances. I stand for those who thought they could never make it. While the world snacks on beef I watched the cookie crumble and decided every drop of it was mine for the taking. This is the awakening. As I rise to the occasion, I keep my squad around me like it is game time, in the huddle, and only seconds before we take the win. I don't know about you, but I'm not the same man I used to be, when they all constantly called me a loser, it was God that saw the best in me. I refuse to let go and let your notions of failure, drench my mind like I stepped out without a raincoat. I stand, for all those dreams that kept running through my head, knowing that success doesn't make the man, it is the significance, it is faith. That's why I don't play pretend. I stand for the millions who never let up, worked those hands to the bone. And fought depression just to get up. I stand at the foot of solid ground. Three nails. A king died as the rumor got around. I wish I could have been there. Maybe things would be different. But, my father sacrificed his hands and feet so I could keep living. Call me ambitious but don't you dare call me a dead man that keeps quitting. I stand for all who follow suit, look to tandy aan an nd know that God saw it fit that we behold the mind of warriors. For that, I salute. I stand. But before that, I was on my knees praying for greatness. Like Ali in his prime, Jesus paved the way for me. He stood, and all the people watched. He took the L for the win. In the end, he bled for his own flock. We stand for something greater than you could ever imagine. A born sinner by nature, but a child of God in the same breath. I stand as a man who knows what it feels like to lose, The battle is already won. But the war against unlike minds is up to you. I stand because I rise with the sunset. Thankful for every moment I'm alive, and God ain't even done yet.
