I Stopped

I stopped thinking about the past,

about what we were,

about how it could have been

I stopped blaming myself for things that were completely out of my control

I stopped thinking that being mistreated,

forgotten,

abused,

neglected,

and over worked were things that just came with my lifestyle

I stopped making up excuses for things that were inexcusable

No matter how many times I stopped,

I still felt like I was moving

I stopped putting everything and everyone else first

I stopped thinking I was less then what I really was worth

Now even though I stopped,

every time I looked down I was still moving

I stopped fighting,

Stopped the feeling of defeat

Stopped hating myself

Stopped the tears thast seemed to start up out of my control

I became ductile to life

I began to notice how I’ve grown

How I smiled

How I flowed

And I realized it all was happening to me because I just decided to finally stop
