I Suck at Poetry

I suck at poetry

But let's try sahll we

Because in rhyme and meter my voice may be heard

My voice may be heard above the din

The din that strengthens every time I call for attention

It makes me want to scream one wordless sound

A sound that will haunt them for the rest of their lives

But what good would that do

I suck at poetry

I really do

It ends up just abstract and strange on the page

Strange and abstract

There is no reason

This is not a haiku in iambic pentameter

It will not end in a couplet

I think

These are merely my honest words spoken before a crowd

Recorded in a diary locked away in my room

I suck at poetry

I cannot compete

My voice is lost in the din

Lost in the noise

All I can do with my voice is speak

I cannot busta rhyme

I cannot move a crowd

And I suck at poetry

But I tried
